GMC Product Optimisation

What You Need to Prepare

Get these ready before we run the optimisation tool — no workflow knowledge needed

📝
Step 1
Fill in the Brand Onboarding Form

Register the brand by filling in a short form — brand name, industry, location, positioning, and title rules. See Slide 2 for guidance on each field.

Open Form → Update Registry →
📥
Step 2
Export from Google Merchant Center

In your GMC account, go to Products → All products and download your product feed as a TSV or CSV file. This is your raw product data.

📋
Step 3
Open the Product Template

Copy your product data into the shared Google Sheet template. The template shows you exactly which columns to fill in — they're highlighted in blue.

Open Template →
🔵
Step 4
Fill in the Blue Columns

Only the blue highlighted columns need to be filled in. Column names must match exactly. See Slide 3 for the full column guide.

Once your form and sheet are ready, share the sheet link — we'll handle the rest ✅

Step 1 — Brand Onboarding Form

Fill this in once per brand. It tells the tool how to write titles and descriptions for this brand.

📝 Open Brand Onboarding Form
What the Form Asks
🏷️ Brand Name e.g. La Mer, Clinique, Kulanikinis
🧴 Industry e.g. Skincare, Haircare, Footwear
📍 Target Location e.g. Australia, United States — used for keyword volume data
✍️ Brand Positioning 1–2 sentences on what the brand is and who it's for
🔢 Title Structure Order of elements, e.g. Brand + Product Name + Key Benefit + Type + Size
📌 Special Rules Optional — one rule per line, e.g. "Never use the word 'luxury'"
Tips for Tricky Fields
💡
Brand Positioning Search the brand name in ChatGPT or Perplexity in AI search mode — copy the summary as your positioning.
🔢
Title Structure Define the order of what goes in the title. Include "Size (if relevant)" at the end for variant products.
📌
Special Rules Add any brand-specific restrictions here. These are injected directly into the AI prompt — be specific.
Already registered? Update here instead If the brand was onboarded before, no need to re-submit the form. Edit the brand's row directly in the Brand Registry Sheet →

Steps 3 & 4 — Inside the Product Template

The blue columns are the only ones you need to fill in.

Required Columns (blue highlighted)

Copy-paste column names from the template — spelling and spacing matter

Column name What to fill in
id Your product ID from GMC
link Full product page URL
